Dear Honor Fans,
Welcome to 2021. May this year be the year of prosperity and happiness for all of YOU and your Family.
Well, change is the rule of the universe. So, why not we bring a change in our smartphones power consumption this year. A change that benefits us without compromising on background processes. I mean bringing phones battery consumption to its minimum level to last longer than usual.
For this purpose, I just tested different modifications in the settings menu and extracted the top 3 modifications which surely impacts the power consumption without limiting the background services.
Here are my Top-3 recommendations:
1. Change Screen Resolution
2. Darken the UI
3. Use of Wi-Fi over Mobile Data
Now let me explain how these 3 recommendations create an impact on power consumption.
1. Change Screen Resolution
Screen resolution plays an important role in the device’s power consumption. You can say the higher resolution is directly proportional to power consumption. This means that the higher the resolution higher will be power consumption and vice versa. Now if you think that your device battery is draining too fast than expected then you are at the right place. We’ll reduce screen resolution to HD+ from FHD (Full HD).
To do this, just go to Settings > Display & brightness > Screen resolution > Turn Off - {Smart Resolution} > Select HD+
You are done with the first step. Let’s move to the second step.
2. Darken the UI
After adjusting the screen resolution to HD+, my second recommendation is to turn on the Dark Mode. Now if your device has an AMOLED display panel the impact of Dark Mode will be higher than IPS displays. But it is still noticeable on IPS displays as well.
To switch to dark mode, head on to Settings > Display & Brightness > Click the Dark Mode to Turn On.
3. Use of Wi-Fi over Mobile Data
It has been observed that using SIM data/mobile data consumes more power than a Wi-Fi connection. And yes, it creates an impact on power consumption. So, my third recommendation is to use Wi-Fi over mobile data to access the internet if possible. However, if you’re on mobile data all the time like me, then don’t worry if you follow step 1 & 2 only, you’ll still notice the impact on power consumption as well.
After all these changes you’ll surely notice that your device’s battery consumption level is minimized, and it lasts for longer than expected.
