What's the catch with HONOR's recent HONOR 9X PRO model? For me, it's not just a smartphone that relieves my boredom at home or on the way to work… but my reliable companion to outings, or even excursions, thanks to its unique capabilities.
Distinctive HONOR aesthetics
The reflective battery cover is one of the biggest highlights on HONOR 9X PRO. It's easy to be mesmerized by how it generates shimmering, eye-catching patterns of light on the surface, which leaves me with the impression that I'm admiring a work of three-dimensional art, instead of a 2D flat surface. The model's "X" identity literally comes alive, when it appears at certain angles as I turn it in my hand.
Clean bezel-free display
HONOR 9X PRO is the first HONOR handset to adopt a pop-up camera, and therefore boasts a neat screen design that's gotten rid of a notch of any kind or shape. Watching videos, gaming, and even simply navigating on the phone – all operations have been elevated into full-scale immersion.
An "X-traordinary" camera, suitable for any outing
I've grown to love taking my HONOR 9X PRO out with me for picture snapping, because I've found that it's incredibly versatile and captures amazing images regardless of the weather, time of the day, or subject!
Most smartphones these days are pretty exceptional at daytime photography, so the real test of a standout camera is how well it performs after the sun sets.
And HONOR 9X PRO has nailed it.
The colors are highly realistic, the details are well maintained, noise control is sublime, and even the fast-moving cruise boats look stunning, except for some very slight overexposure around the neon-lit areas caused by the object's motion.
The scenes are reproduced exactly as I had perceived them with my own eyes.
The phone's AI instantly recognizes the night scene, and automatically recommends Night mode, which allows for crisp long-exposure imaging without a tripod. I've heard about the HONOR 9X PRO's night photography being nicknamed the "Owl algorithm" – and I can see why – it really does come with owl-like perception in the dark!
The standard exposure time in Night mode is 2 to 4 seconds, so I've also used it to capture trains/cars passing through the frame and create the kind of live motion.
HONOR 9X PRO's high-definition 48 MP camera offers the opportunity to shoot stunning pictures in any conditions, even if you're new to photography and don't how to set the parameters for each individual scene. I never use manual mode anyways, because there's really no reason to, when the standard mode is this good. Place your trust in HONOR 9X PRO, and its almighty AI, and you'll be rewarded as I have been!
