Use CA certificates or user certificates to access the WLAN network

If the network to be used requires a certificate, then you will need to manually install the relevant certificate first.

Install a certificate for WLAN

Go to the certificate installation interface in any of the ways below:

• Go to Settings > WLAN > More settings and click “Install certificate”.

• Go to Settings > Security > More settings > Encryption and credentials >Install from storage and click “WLAN certificate”.

In this interface, find the file directory where your certificate is located, click on the corresponding file, name, and install.

Tips: If you haven't set a lock screen password for your phone, the system will guide you to set one.

View certificate details or remove a certificate

You can view the details of an installed WLAN certificate or remove a certificate in the following ways:

1. Go to Settings > Security > More settings > Encryption and credentials and click “User credentials”.

2. In the user credentials interface, click the certificate name to view the details.

3. In the pop-up window of credential details, click “Delete” to remove this credential.

Tips: If you remove the certificate required for a WLAN connection, the current device may no longer be able to connect to that WLAN network.

Use certificates when connecting to EAP encrypted networks

When connecting to an EAP encrypted network in Settings, please select the specified EAP method according to the information provided by the network administrator and select the certificate and fill in other information for authentication as required by the network administrator.

Tips: Please fill in the correct information to ensure a smooth connection to the network.

Impact of selecting "Do not validate" for CA certificate in some EAP methods

For security reasons, it is not recommended that you select "Do not validate" in the CA certificate when adding a network.

We have reserved this option for you if you do not install a CA certificate. But we will provide a security alert when you connect to a network.
