HONOR, a global smartphone brand, earned an updated DXOMARK score of 113 points yesterday for HONOR 20 PRO. DXOMARK added two more points to HONOR 20 PRO’s previous score of 111 and placed the device on the third-highest spot. The new score is updated due to DXOMARK’s new test protocol, which added wide sub-score and night sub-score into the evaluation. HONOR 20 PRO’s outstanding night shot capabilities and wide-angle camera were the main elements that enabled the device to earn the top score.
The HONOR 20 PRO is the current flagship smartphone, HONOR, which provides unbeatable products with accessible price. This “affordable flagship” comes with an impressive set of camera specifications that offers the same ultimate experience as other premium models from more established brands. The device’s quad-camera setup includes a 48MP stabilized primary camera with an industry-largest F1.4 aperture; an 8MP telephoto lens option that offers 3X lossless optical zoom, 5X hybrid zoom and 30X digital zoom; a 16MP super wide angle camera that captures more with greater ease at a 117° viewing angle; a 2MP dedicated macro camera that completes the set, although this aspect falls outside of DXOMARK’s current testing protocol. Additionally, the 7nm dual NPU Kirin 980 chipset increases image processing speed and enhances other functions to provide a silky smooth AI experience.
DXOMARK: The scientific benchmark for camera quality
While consumers seek out photo and video quality, getting meaningful, reliable comparisons when shopping can be a challenge. That is why standardized benchmarks are essential.
DXOMARK is the gold standard benchmark in the industry for image quality. While no single set of measurements can truly provide a full picture, the DXOMARK holds a unique place of value due to its scientific, objective approach that enables comparison across a wide range of devices.
That is because all mobile devices tested by DXOMARK go through an identical, extensive process. The huge range of tests covering everything from photo color shading to video exposure stability includes shooting over 1,500 images and more than two hours of video, taking place in both lab and real-world situations and using a wide variety of subjects. Testing a single mobile device involves a team comprising several people for a week.
The HONOR 20 PRO makes it very close to the top of our DxOMark Mobile ranking, thanks to good Photo and Video performances across the board and no significant areas of weakness. If you’re in the market for a new smartphone with excellent imaging capabilities, the HONOR 20 PRO should be very high up on your list of options, especially if you want to save a little bit of cash compared to the more established competition.
