Design Aesthetics

EMUI9 was designed with simplicity and nature in mind – a natural blending of colours, adorned with the motifs and imagery inspired by mountains, ocean water, glaciers and stones.
EMUI10’s UI emulates the beauty of nature while adhering to the golden ratio. All the icons are re-designed to offer users a beautiful, visual-friendly desktop.

Colour & Eye Comfort

Natural tone adjusts colour temperature for a consistent paper-like viewing experience. Colour Mode & Temperature give users the option to customise colour tones.
The magazine layout allows for bigger titles and more white spacing, which are combined with a new grid system to bring users an enhanced viewing experience.
A toggle for native system-wide dark mode is readily available as part of the settings menu.


EMUI9.1 adopts EROFS for better storage random read speed. As such he launch speeds of large apps including games are much faster.
EMUI10 features Deterministic Latency Engine to guarantee high priority tasks receive adequate resources, eliminating bottlenecks for better performance.

Multi-device Collaboration

The innovative HONOR Magic-Link 2.0 feature lets the smartphones connect with the MagicBook with one simple tap. It supports fast transfer of pictures, videos and files.
Cross-platform (Android and Microsoft Windows) interactive mode allows the devices1 to show two OS simultaneously and lets users perform drag-and-drop file transfers between systems.

GPU Turbo

EMUI9’s GPU Turbo improves gaming performance and supports more games at a greater capacity. It can also reduce the power needed to support gaming and deliver an overall smoother performance.
EMUI10’s latest GPU turbo has increased the efficiency and quality of the graphics processing unit. It also improves touch screen response time by optimizing graphics stack processing and resource access, bringing a smoother gaming experience to users.


With EMUI 9, sensitive data such as login credentials are stored in an encrypted password vault that can only be accessed with user’s fingerprint, face, or PIN.
EMUI10 features HONOR’s own in-house security OS iTrustee, which offers an independent and trusted execution environment for devices. Sensitive user data (e.g. fingerprint and face unlock data) is managed and stored on iTrustee for isolation protection.

[1] Multi-screen Collaboration is available on HONOR 20 series, HONOR View20 series and HONOR Magic2 with EMUI10. For laptops, it is available on HONOR MagicBook 14, HONOR MagicBook 15 and HONOR MagicBook Pro and it may require future software update to support this feature.
