我的荣耀 开启荣耀之旅
Hello to all the fans,
Today, I propose to tell you about the IP index of the HONOR Magic 4 Pro.
This is the Envelope Protection Index, in short a two-digit code that allows you to know the resistance of a device to DUST and WATER.
It is an international standard of the International Electrotechnical Commission and first published in 1989.
The format of the index, given by the IEC 60529 standard, is IP XY where the characters X and Y are two digits and/or a letter.
Here is the summary table:
HONOR claims that its Magic 4 Pro has an IP rating of 68, which means it is completely dustproof and submersible beyond 1m under the conditions specified by the manufacturer for time and pressure.
HONOR specifies in its product sheet:
HONOR Magic4 Pro is rated IP68 for splash, water, and dust resistance under IEC 60529 and tested under controlled laboratory conditions.
Splash, water and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance may decrease over time with normal use.
Do not charge the phone when it is wet or in humid environments.
Refer to manual for cleaning and drying instructions. Liquid immersion and resulting damage is not covered by warranty.
The IP68 rating means that, based on certain defined test conditions, the device is protected against harmful ingress of static water up to 1.5 meters, for up to 30 minutes, while the temperature difference between water and the appliance does not exceed 5°C.
This protection is therefore useful in the event of an accident, but we must not forget that it is in no way permanent and that it's not guarantees 100% that the smartphone is waterproof.
Well, I hope this article has helped you to see more clearly about the dust and water resistance of the HONOR Magic 4 Pro.
Have a good week.
