For a certain reason, you are likely to be hunting for a high quality budget Android phone for less than $300. For instance, to get a latest phone without forking over serious cash, to get new popular features in the next phone, or to have a second phone in case of an emergency. Fortunately, it's a decent time to buy a budget phone since those cheap phones are getting better and more powerful.
Between the premium-feeling hardware and affordable price, the HONOR 7X and HONOR 9 Lite easily earns the top spot.
It seems that HONOR 7X doesn't have any of the usual compromises. The HONOR 7X runs a Hisilicon Kirin 659 octa-core processor and Android 8.0 (the update to Oreo is released now). And the phone packed in 5.93-inches screen, 18:9 aspect ratio and 2,160 x 1,080 pixel resolution, will give you a desirable large screen and compact body experience. As to shooting bokeh-style shots that look professional, the 16+2MP dual lens camera of HONOR 7X won’t disappoint you, too. It also has an excellent portrait mode for blurring the background in photos.
Different storage results in price variance in markets. There is a model with 3GB of RAM and 32 GB storage. But you can easily upgrade to 4GB and 64GB without going over $300.
Similar to HONOR 7X that came out 2 months earlier, the HONOR 9 Lite is also powered by Kirin 659 processor and Android 8.0 Oreo. It comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a 2160 x 1080 (FHD+) resolution as well. But the HONOR 9 Lite is a little smaller (5.65-inch).
The HONOR 9 Lite is cheaper than the HONOR 7X, and it comes with other stunning features, such as the shiny back and four cameras. It is available in three colors – sapphire blue, Glacier Grey and Midnight Black. Suffice to say, the back is so reflective that the blue version can actually be used as a real mirror. As to its quad camera, the device has the same dual-lens 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel cameras on the front and the rear, with improved software for HDR shots, wide-aperture pictures, and the beauty mode.
If you are looking to spend $300 or less, we will highly recommend them as a first choice. However, since the phone may be not available in your market, you may need to check it on the local HONOR official site.
